I have a tunze on the 100 and the pump hum is very noticable. Any suggestions for quieting it ? Thanks

Is this a new pump or one that has been in service for awhile?

It has been in service for less than a year. The pump was cleaned and soaked recently less than six weeks ago. The skimmer was in a basement sump but has been moved into a living area sump. I can't remember if the hum was present when the skimmer was in the basement since it wasn't a spouse issue then. Thanks Mike

I would break the pump down into all of it's components and clean each piece individually. An overnight soak in vinegar and the a through scrubbing with a stiff brush. Make sure to remove and clean the bushings from the volute cover and the impeller socket.

Hi!

d2mini actually led me here from watching his build on our local club's forum. I have to say, I'm pretty interested in the 400 model. I have a DIY Red Dragon skimmer, but I'm looking to use it on something else and get one of these.

I was just wondering what the footprint of the skimmer was, including the Askoll? I need to see if I have to rebuild my sump.

Thanks!

I took the whole pump apart soaked everything and there is still a noticeable hum. I have trouble lining up the impeller, sits slightly crooked. Is it possible that the bushings or even the impeller need to be replaced ? The pump is less than a year old. Also do you sell the bushings and impellers?
